We believe that human beings, both male and female, were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). We believe that through the sin of Adam and Eve all of humanity experiences both physical and spiritual death and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature (Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:12).
We believe that those who have become children of God through regenerative faith in Christ are united in one spiritual body, the body of Christ, the Church (Matthew 16:18; Romans 12:4-8; Colossians 1:18). The Church meets in local assemblies (the local church) for the purpose of glorifying God through worship, study of the Bible, fellowship, sharing the Gospel with others, and making disciples. As such, we believe the local church to be the change agent within our culture (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; Ephesians 3:8-10; 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:23-25). |
We believe that the regeneration of the believer extends to our new identity in Christ. As we relate to God as a caring Father, and as we bring our inner life under the influence of the Holy Spirit, we bring forth the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
We believe in the resurrection of the saved to live in the blessed presence of the Triune God forever and in the resurrection of the lost to live in eternal torment separated from God forever (Luke 13:28; 16:19-31; 23:43; John 3:18; Philippians 3:20-21; Revelation 20:11-15).
