Even though Jesus became my Savior, it was several years later that I began to understand that Lordship was an ongoing process of surrendering every area of my heart to Him. I began to understand that God viewed me completely righteous in Christ and He loved me for who I was (valuable to Him), not for what I could do for Him. As I understood this, the surrender of my heart to His Lordship became easier. My perspective of God changed. My view of people changed and I began to unconditionally love and accept people as He did. My wife and I had the opportunity to join a Bible study entitled Living in the Presence of the Trinity [Editors note: this book is now entitled Becoming What God Intended: A Study for Spiritual Transformation] with couples and singles in March 1999. In June 1999, we facilitated the same study with our seven blended-family children and their significant others. This study has dramatically changed our
relationship with our kids, how we view them through God's eyes and
