The Spiritual Life Development Interactive Bible study course consists of a set of materials sent to you on CD-ROM, plus the courseware website for an online guided learning experience, including interactions with mentors and other students. The course materials included on the CD-ROM are as follows:
Becoming What God Intended This life-changing 186 page workbook, included on the courseware CD-ROM, is designed to help the Christian achieve an emotionally rich spiritual life in the presence of God. This workbook is the result of twenty years of biblical research, thousands of hours spent discipling people, and many years leading seminars and classes in the spiritual life. Working through this unique workbook will result in a deeply happy and loving relationship with God the Father through the work of Christ. You will discover how the disarming acceptance of God creates character within the Christian's heart, and how the character is sustained by deep gratitude. The workbook includes numerous original translations by Dr. Eckman directly from the Greek New Testament. Also included on the CD-ROM are the audio tape series and Facilitator's Guide. |
Dr. Eckman has done original translations from the Greek New Testament for this workbook. The left hand margin will often include these translated Bible verses to help in your understanding of the Biblical text. Placed in the left margin throughout the text is a Theological Jargon Box (TJB). Many times, Bible teachers and ministers have a language all their own. This box will take any religious language found in the text and attempt to explain it. The individual will be learning the language of the church, while developing a rich relationship with the Trinity. Important points in the text are highlighted in bold face type in the left margin. And Even More Content... The CD-ROM also includes a setup procedure to step you through the technical settings on your computer that are required for the courseware to work properly. The CD-ROM is your gateway to the course material and website. Note that the course is run from the website - you must be connected to the internet to use the CD-ROM. However, a basic modem connection is all that is required. All large media files normally requiring high-speed download are included on the CD-ROM.
Student Interaction
Finally, a Student Forum is built into the courseware website, allowing you to ask questions and interact with other students and the mentors and professor. All questions asked by other students, along with their mentor answers are available for you to read. An extensive help system is included. A "test" area is set up in the forum to allow new students to "practice" using the forum by posting messages, editing and deleting messages, and replying to posted messages. Personal messages between you and your mentor, or you and other students are handled by the Personal Messaging System built into the Student Forum.
