Now you can access a seminary-level education online through BWGI’s Christian distance education program.  The material for BWGI’s spiritual growth online Bible study course has been presented for more than 20 years in the form of seminars, textbooks, multimedia lectures, and classroom teaching.  It has been used for developing counseling programs, and used for small group studies in hundreds of locations.  Feedback below is from church leaders and church members.

From Chaplain Frank C. Gillock, USCG Auxiliary:  I am the son of a minister.  Brought up in church and raised to believe in Jesus Christ as my personal savior.  I, however, rebelled and traveled a road that was not so good for me for many years.  I knew of Christ, I knew He died for me, but my relationship with Him was one of fear, not one of love and devotion.  When I rededicated my life to Christ in 1977 I thought I should return to a life of ministry and settled on a course of study to make that happen.  Following graduation from Bible School I began to pastor.  Over the next few years my wife and I pastored two churches in Texas.  We had been involved in a singing Evangelistic ministry previous to going to Bible School.  My problem, however, was, I was still serving the Lord out of fear not out of love for the Lord.  Over the past year I began to study, on-line, Becoming What God Intended (within the Spiritual Life Development course).  What a revelation!  What I should say is, What a revolution!  As I studied on the computer, I would weep as I realized how much God loved me and, how emotionally involved my Father was involved in my life.  How much He cared for me when I was rebelling.  How painful it was for Him to see me serving Him out of fear instead of deep devotional love.  As I stated earlier, what a revolution!

I am now free to love my Father.  I serve Him out of love and deep devotion.  I now share this love and deep devotion with the Coast Guard men and women I serve as a Chaplain.  I share this love with the Coast Guard Auxiliary men and women I serve as a Chaplain.  I share this revolution with them and I am seeing some of them catch the revolution.

Praise our God and Father and, our Lord Jesus for all that has been done for us, for loving us when we were unlovable.

From Judy:  Becoming What God Intended is the first class that I take in seminary.  Prior to this class, I have little knowledge of who I am in the family of God.  But as I go through the foundation portion of the course, I discover how God sees me from His eyes which are vastly different from my own.

I grew up in Asian culture which has strongly affected the way I treated others and God.  I was taught to repay other’s kindness so that I would not “owe” them a favor.  When I became a Christian 20+ years ago, I served as much as I could because I felt that I owed God’s goodness.  Since God has given me His Son, I should serve to repay Him.  I would feel guilty whenever I had to turn down ministry opportunities.  As I went through the course, I came to realize in a deep sense that God has always loved me the way I was.  I do not need to repay God through my ministry service.  What He has given me is REALLY FREE.  God did not want me to repay him.  More so, I could never repay Christ for what He has done.  It is a GRACE gift!! I  can now serve with a heart of gratitude and love for God.

Finding my ULTIMATE identity in Christ is surely a strong stepping stone to my seminary career.  I have never been a bright student from kindergarten through college.  My mother used to tell me to work hard to compensate for my not-so-smart genes.  It is comforting to know that God accepts me.  He is more interested in who I am than my performance.  I can pursue my studies knowing that I will not be measured by my grades.  God delights in me!!  I am highly valued and profoundly accepted in the family of God.

I stand in awe of God as I finished up this course because it has helped me to see myself from a “Nobody (Lost identity)” to a “Daughter of the King of kings (Identity in Christ).”
