Seminar OrganizationThe
Addiction-Proofing seminar is built from 5 sessions
described briefly below. Each session is based on teachings
from the scripture passages noted. The sessions are typically
forty-five minutes to one hour in length. Four of the sessions
are for general audiences. The forth session is customized for
men, women, or teenagers, typically meeting separately. This
seminar can also be customized to the specific audience, as
required, using from 3 to 5 of the modules.

God’s Misused Gifts
combined session |
Participants learn how the
misuse of the gifts of God - food, sexuality, alcohol and
drugs, reality, and pain - result in temptations,
compulsions and addictions. The presentation also
shows how cultures collapse into addictive patterns when
their members lose their means of dealing with pain and
stress. |
Paul and
Addiction
combined session |
Participants review
I Corinthians 6:9-20
where Paul confronts a group of men who are continually
visiting with sacred prostitutes at a pagan temple in the
city of Corinth. We will discover the principles Paul
taught for avoiding temptation, dealing with compulsion, and
leaving addiction behind. We will be reminded that God
does not abandon His own and that He continually seeks to
deliver His own from the addictive cycle. |
The Cycle
of Addiction
combined session |
Participants discover the
differences in how men and women are affected by
temptations, compulsions and addictions and learn how to
overcome the destructive addiction cycle by unleashing the
truth and power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. |
Spirituality and Food, Sexual, Drug Addiction
Separate sessions for men,
women, and teenagers |
Participants discover through
Paul’s words in Colossians 3
that addiction cannot be addressed by the mere application
of negative rules. This session shows how a living
relationship with the Father and the application of our
identity in Christ to the moods raging within will result in
liberation. The presentations particularly address sexual
addiction for men and food addiction for women. |
The Holy
Spirit and Addiction
combined session |
Participants learn how to
take a fresh approach to their relationship with the Father,
how to take advantage of their identity with the Son, and
how to be open to a radically powerful ministry from the
Spirit of God. Through
Galatians 5, they’ll discover that at our moment
of greatest shame and defeat, wherein we feel like abused
slaves of our own appetites, the Spirit of God is poised,
waiting and eager to deliver us (Galatians
5:1, 13, 16-26). |

A Pastor's Comments
Read
a report below from the Senior Pastor of Northside Church,
Sacramento, California on the effectiveness of BWGI Ministries.
A Report
From
Senior Pastor Dale
Swan
Northside Church, Sacramento, CA
"As a church planter and a
former student of Dr. Eckman, I thought there was
no better foundation for a new church than the concepts
addressed by BWGI
Ministries in the
Creating a Healthy Family
seminar.
This fast-paced seminar helped the people of our church
and their guests realize that they can fully love and
accept themselves because they are completely loved and
accepted by God through their faith in Jesus Christ."
"By the creative and unique approach
of this seminar and the small groups that followed,
people began to understand their new identity in Christ,
many for the first time in their lives, and began to
make healthy changes in their lives and families. Few
organizations are addressing the needs of people in the
way that Kesed is doing, and I strongly recommend them."
